Bismillahi rahamani
raheem.
Salam
alaykum brothers and sisters in islam, we are grateful to Almighty Allah for
the privilege given to us to be part of His ummah to witness yet another
blessed month (RAMADAN).
Before we go further, I believe we are
all aware of the abundant rewards and blessings during the holy month of
ramadan. But the question is, are we ready to make use of this great
opportunity? Especially some of us at verge of being conquered by the spirit of
ashaitan (lahanatullahi allahy). The sins we have committed in the past year is
not beyond forgiveness no matter how weighty they may seems. This is the promise
of Allah so as long as after seeking forgiveness from Him, we will remain
steadfast to doing good deeds and never go back to our vomits.
“Say to those who are kafir that if they stop, they
will be forgiven what is past; but if they return to it, they have the
pattern of previous peoples in the past. (Surat Al-Anfal, 38)”
“Except for those who repent and believe and
act rightly: Allah will transform the wrong actions of such people into good Allah
is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful (Surat Al-Furqan, 70)”
Brother, have you ever
thought of not repenting due to the gravity of your sins
because you think you can never be forgiven by Allah (SWT). I have this good
news for you, Allah is ready to forgive you and the time is now. So, don’t wait
a minute before you start the act of
teqwa (fear of ALLAH) in everything you do from now on. This is the right
time for you as we are in the holy month of Ramadan when you get multiple rewards of every good deed. NO excuse!
“The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi
Wasallam) said: “Whoever draws
near to Allah during it (Ramadan) with a single characteristic from the
characteristics of (voluntary) goodness, he is like whoever performs an
obligatory act in other times. And whoever performs an obligatory act during
it, he is like whoever performed seventy obligatory acts in other times.” (Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah, no. 1887)”
You may engage
yourself in various acts of good characters such as reciting the Holy Qur’an, giving to the needy and doing
other charitable works. By doing all these during the blessed month, you are
not only being forgiven of all your sins but also, your soul is being repaired
and as you sustain the good deeds, you tends be elevated spiritually.
After reading through this, I hope
you take the swift step toward repairing your soul, engross yourself in the act
of teqwa and spiritual elevation. May Almighty Allah (SWT) give you and I the
inspiration to sustain our good deeds beyond the period of Ramadan. Amin.
Salam
Alaykum.
