News reaching us from across the world specifically Nigeria today is that, the crescent has been sighted which means tomorrow being 6th June 2016 is the 1st of Ramadan. Sultan of sokoto, Alh. Sa'ad announced this evening (Sunday) that the moon has been sighted for people to commence fasting.
However, some part of Nigeria observed tarawi while others did not. Lagos central mosque didn't observe tarawi according to a reliable source. As such, another set of ummah may be observing their
tarawi on Monday 6th june 2016 and commences fasting on Tuesday 7th june 2016. But from calls reaching our end, some of those who did not observe the tarawi also concurred to the fact that Ramadan starts tomorrow as they have also confirmed the sighting of the moon.
We are grateful to Almighty Allah for the privilege to be part of His ummah that witness another holy month of Ramadan, and we seek from him, sustainable teqwa to carry on in the journey of cleansing of body and soul through out the blessed month. As we embark on this journey of spiritual elevation, may almighty Allah accept every step we take towards worshiping HIM as an act of ibadah. Amin.
